Messrs. Johnsen and Fretty first worked together at J.P. Morgan in 1986. A few years later they joined again with the intent of building a boutique investment bank that would provide unparalleled advice to its clients. With a dedicated team of professionals, Johnsen, Fretty & Company has completed mergers, acquisitions, and financial transactions totaling over $1 billion in volume.

People

James E. Johnsen, Managing Director
Prior to founding Johnsen, Fretty & Company, LLC, James Johnsen, was Vice President at Southport Partners, a boutique investment bank serving the technology sector. While at Southport Partners, Mr. Johnsen advised IBM on a number of joint ventures, strategic partnerships, investments, and divestitures. Mr. Johnsen received his MBA from Yale University and his BS in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.


Steven D. Fretty, Managing Director
Steve Fretty, Co-Founder of JFC, has executed a number of high profile buy and sell-side advisory assignments as well as private debt and equity financings. In addition to JP Morgan, Mr. Fretty's prior experience includes work at Resolution Trust Corp. Mr. Fretty received his MBA from Duke University and his BA, with Distinction, in Economics from the University of Michigan.


Gabriel P. Oliverio, Jr., Principal
Gabe Oliverio has worked on a number of placed-based media transactions ranging from traditional bulletin plants in high-profile markets to niche targeted media. Mr. Oliverio's prior experience is in high net-worth portfolio management and equity securities analysis. Mr. Oliverio is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he received his BS in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Marketing.


J. Taylor Woodson, Associate
Taylor has actively participated in several JFC transactions including sale side assignments and financings for various mediums of Outdoor advertising.  Prior to JFC, he worked for Merrill Lynch Financial Advisory and Investments where his responsibilities included financial market analysis and equity research. He received his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
